So basically these chapters are about Liz getting off the boat and entering elsewhere. In elsewhere she meets her grandmother Betty. She also finds that shortly she gets addicted to the ODs (observation decks) and doesnt have much of a life on elsewhere except her new job working at the DDA (Division of Domestic Animals) . She adopts a dog named Sadie which takes up most of her spare time. Liz eventually learns all of the rules of elsewhere like what you are and arent supposed to do, she also finds out that everyone in elsewhere ages backwards and once you become a baby they send you down a river to be reborn onto Earth. But soon she becomes obsessed with her old life on earth. She spends every day watching her friends and family on earth. Untill finally she wants to do more than just watch she wants to make contact with them. So Curtis Jest informs her that if she dives to the very bottom of the ocean she will see a well. And if she talks into it people on earth can hear her, but she appears as a ghost. So this is exactly what she wants to do. Her first attempt betty finds her. But the second attempt was a success. She made contact withe her little brother but that only got him in trouble. When liz reaches the surface again she finds herself introuble with Owen Welles for violating a Elsewhere Law. Surprisingly enough, Owen and Liz start hanging out, and Owen gives Liz driving lessons. They find themselves spending a lot of time with each other. And Liz thinks shes fallen in love. But unfortunately Owens wife on earth Emily dies and enters elsewhere. So of course they get together and they remain to be married just like on earth. This upsets Liz so much that she cant take it and she decides to sneak away from elsewhere back to earth. Teens her age have the option of doing this. Its where they send you back to earth with all of the other babies. So Liz leaves elsewhere without telling anyone except for Curtis Jest. But while Liz is on her journey she decides she doesnt want to do this. She can never go back to her old life and shes leaving everything she has here. So she sinks to the bottom of the ocean, but she doesnt drown because its impossible to die on elsewhere. So Owen decides hes going to go out looking for her because while Liz is gone Owen and Emily decide being married in elsewhere just isnt working out. So Owen wants Liz back. After 3 days of searching he finally finds her. And they admitt to each other that they are in love with one another. So they go back to elsewhere to find that Betty and Curtis are now dating.
